Is acupuncture painful?
Acupuncture is not normally painful. Firstly because disposable thin needles (0.20 to 0.30 mm) are used, secondly the insertion of the needles is done with a specific technique and with a very fast movement. The depth at which the needle is inserted varies from point to point so that no pain occurs. Even in cases where some points are painful (Ting points) it is possible to minimize the feeling of pain with appropriate manipulations.
Is Acupuncture Safe?
The safety of acupuncture is guaranteed due to the application of sterile disposable needles that are in individual packaging and due to their destruction after use in accordance with the rules of Health and Safety of Medical Waste Management. Also, the safety of acupuncture is guaranteed when performed by properly trained staff, who by law (Government Gazette No. Prot. Υ7 / ΟΙΚ / 4270 / 25-6-96) is a doctor certified after special training.
Does acupuncture have side effects?
No, acupuncture has no side effects.
Do I need to stop my medication to get acupuncture?
No, acupuncture is additionally applied to patients receiving medication for the same or a different problem than the one for which the acupuncture is applied.
Is the result of acupuncture due to self-submission (PLACEBO)?
No, the result of acupuncture is not PLACEBO. Proof that acupuncture is successfully applied in veterinary medicine, where, obviously, there is no question of self-submission.
